You are not the only one addicted to Spotify playlists. Statistics show that there are currently over 4 billion playlists on the streaming service, and users keep adding more. It makes you wonder if there is a limit to the number of playlists you can create.
Users on the free service plan can create up to 15 different playlists. For those on the premium plan, Spotify doesn’t specify a limit for the number of playlists. You can have hundreds or thousands if you want.
You should note, however, that only the first 200 of them will show on your public playlist profile. Many users have raised concerns about this and hope the streaming service makes some changes to that feature.
Each Spotify playlist can have a maximum of 10,000 songs.
Organizing Your Playlist Using Folders
You can work around this limitation by grouping your playlists into folders. This also quickens the loading time for your Spotify application.
Use the steps below to make playlist folders on your desktop:
- Right-click on PLAYLISTS in your sidebar
- Choose CREATE FOLDER in the menu that appears
- Name your playlist folder
- Drag and drop the playlists you want into the folder
Each folder will have a reduced number of playlists to show.
